Looks like Summer vacation came just in time for Kaelin!

It's summer!

The weather is gorgeous and Mommy joined a fabulous new gym (Lifetime Fitness) ... that means it's pool time!
It was their first trip of the year and they were beyond excited. Unfortunately, it was a tad ill timed.
It was sunny and hot as we arrived. Once we got into our suits and slathered in sunscreen, the sun had disappeared behind some fairly ominous clouds and there was a slight chill in the air. We swam for about 20 minutes before the lifeguards closed the pool due to lightening in the distance... those 20 minutes were filled with squeals and laughter though!
We showered, got dressed, and walked out of the locker room to people rushing down the hallway. I looked out the window and it was pitch black. Hail the size of golf balls was falling from the sky. What the heck?!
Just as we reached the front door, the Alpharetta tornado sirens started going off and the gym staff ushered everyone into the locker rooms. We had to wait there for about 20 minutes until they got the all clear. Fun fun.
By that time it was around 7:30 and the girls were getting hungry. Luckily, there's a great cafe inside the gym, so we decided to wait for the rain to let up and grab a bite there. We got home just as the rain stopped, and the girls ran and splashed in the puddles until way after their bedtime.
So hoping that our next trip to the pool is slightly less eventful.

Maybe the drums aren't THAT bad ..

I'm no longer allowed to be annoyed by our neighbor's band practice. Apparently, Kaelin thinks he rocks.

Unfortunately, I had put the camera down right at the moment she yelled, "Rock and Roll!!!" at the top of her lungs.

Class picture

The mother of a classmate managed to snap this group picture on the last day of school. Excuse the goofy faces on some of the kids .. I didn't ask the parents if I could post their kids on here (and I know that some people are freaked out by that). Reese is doing her favorite pose as of late. Bring a camera out and she immediately gets all shy and "aw shucks". Their cousin, Cooper, is in front looking perfect and handsome .... and then there's Kaelin.
Can someone tell me why my child is dressed like a two bit hooker at school?!
(sequined dress .. pearls .. tacky cowgirl hat)
I'm definitely not letting that kid pick out her own clothes any time soon.

(more on the last day in a few...)
